CHAPEL MINISTRIES
Our church building is the place where our family gathers to worship together. There are many ways you can help, depending on the gifts God has given you and how God calls you to help. Sometimes to find that out, we need to just try and see. Just as with every family home, it takes the participation and assistance of everyone. How do you feel you’re being called to help or give a try?
LECTORS
Lectors bring life to the written Word of God. Those who proclaim God's word in the liturgy are known as Ministers of the Word or Lectors.
Answering the call to become a lector enters one into a deeper relationship with God as He is revealed in sacred scripture.
MUSIC
The music ministry at St. Andrew Chapel, whose primary purpose is to lead and enhance the music at all liturgies, offers parishioners the opportunity to share their gifts of music with the community as a member of one of our choirs.
All parishioners are invited to lend their musical talent to our Lord, either vocally or instrumentally, by playing or singing at our Masses.
ALTAR SERVERS
The Altar Server Ministry provides an opportunity for younger parishioners to actively participate in the tradition of Catholic worship.
Altar Servers assist the priests and deacons with processions, blessings, rituals, etc. during the celebration of Mass and other sacred ceremonies.
CATECHIST
The CCD catechists/teachers are to assist in the spiritual formation of a child/children through a formal program of continuous faith formation.
Although each parent is the primary educator of their children in matters of faith, catechists provide an indispensable service to the children and their families by sharing their faith and giving their time to explain the teachings of the Catholic Church.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTER
Eucharistic Minister assists the priest in administering the sacraments of holy communion, the consecrated bread and wine.
"Yours is a share in the work of the Lord's Spirit who makes of us one bread, one body, the cup of blessing. Yours is a work of ministering Christ's body and blood to the body of Christ, the Church. Yours is service at the Lord's reconciling table." - Eucharistic Minister Handbook
HOSPITALITY
The ministers prepare the hearts of worshippers and visitors by welcoming them with a smile as they enter the Chapel. Opportunities include greeting, ushering, handing out bulletins, collecting & counting offering, and providing assistance to worshippers when required.
